Fill out our enquiry form or email us at travel@mpinji-expeditions.com with a brief of what you have in mind — the more detail the better, but if you're still in exploratory mode, that's perfectly fine too. We'll set up a call to get to know you and understand what will make your experience truly special.

Luxury travel in Africa has long been curated through a narrow lens. We're changing that. Mpinji Expeditions is built around inclusive travel — which means we intentionally centre Black-owned and POC-led businesses, amplify local and underrepresented voices, and curate experiences that offer a fuller, more honest picture of the places you visit.
We work with guests who care about who benefits from their travel, not just where they go. For travellers in the Black diaspora, we understand that a trip to Africa can carry a weight and meaning that goes far beyond tourism — and we bring the sensitivity and intentionality that deserves.
Every itinerary is personally crafted, and we stay with you from first conversation to final night.

Sustainable travel isn't just about minimising environmental impact — though that matters. It's about where money flows, whose businesses grow, and whose stories get told. We apply a conscious lens to every supplier we work with, prioritising Black-owned and POC-led accommodation, guides, and experience providers. We look for businesses that employ and invest locally, that are rooted in their communities, and that offer genuine cultural exchange rather than performance.
Inclusivity matters to us because African tourism has historically been shaped by — and designed for — a very specific kind of traveller. We think that's a loss for everyone. When more voices shape how a destination is experienced, you get a richer, more honest, more meaningful trip. And when tourism spend reaches more diverse businesses and communities, the economic benefits of travel distribute more fairly.
Where possible we seek out certified establishments (Fair Trade, TravelLife, etc.) and not then we apply these criteria to the business and seek out real data on their work and efforts.

We believe in transparency, and in paying people fairly for their time and expertise.
The core of how we earn is through our supplier relationships — meaning booking accommodation and experiences through us typically costs you no more than booking directly, and in many cases less. We have access to trade rates and seasonal deals that aren't publicly available.
Where we do charge directly is a planning and administration fee, which varies based on the length and complexity of your itinerary. This covers the significant time that goes into researching, designing, and managing your trip from first brief to final day.
We also believe that paying suppliers — guides, chefs, artists, winemakers, and others — fairly and respectfully is what makes the difference between a good trip and an extraordinary one. When people feel genuinely valued, they give more of themselves. Our guests feel that difference.

IF your trip is booked 60+ days before travel and you cancel:
61+ Days from a arrival date - 100% refund
46-60 days until arrival date - 50% refund
45 days or less until arrival - 0% refund
IF your trip was booked less than 60 days before arrival, there is a 100% cancellation fee.
Our cancellation fees are based around industry standards, protecting our team and the work put in to tailor-make your journeys with open-ended changes and revisions, and ultimately we are held to our suppliers' cancellation fees.
Should the cancellation terms not be favourable to you at the time of cancellation, please speak to our team to see what can be done, we will of course try our best. Our top advice is always to look at new travel dates, our supplier relationships mean we can often move a booking with little to no penalty.
